Al VanScotter, Licensed Agent
Al VanScotter has 30+ years of sales, marketing and financial consulting experience, with the majority of that time spent helping community bank owners, officers & key executives successfully plan their retirement. After retiring in 2009 at age 65, and enrolling in the Country’s healthcare program, Al turned his attention to helping seniors wind their way through the maze that we call…MEDICARE. To help seniors determine the optimal Medicare plan for their specific situation, Al created NORTH TEXAS SENIOR BENEFIT ADVISORS (NTSBA) which is a brokerage firm representing most of the major Medicare health providers in the region. Al spends his time providing educational and sales seminars to retirement & assisted living communities, senior centers, local food banks, doctor’s offices, churches, and wherever senior citizens meet. In order to expand and improve assisting seniors with their insurance needs, NTBSA has recently joined forces with Mike Torres’ well-known Agency For Retired, Elderly & Disabled. Al will now proudly “fly under” the Agency for Retired, Elderly and Disabled.
Al is a Vietnam Veteran who held a Top-Secret Crypto Security Clearance during his 4 years with the U.S. Army Security Agency dividing his time between Japan & Thailand. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and holds a Master’s Degree in International Business from Creighton University in Omaha.
Al is the Usher Captain at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and is past President and Board member of the Church Men’s Club. He has enjoyed competing in the Texas Senior Olympics for several years and medaled this year (2020) in the shot put and discus during the Dallas event. He and Beverly celebrated 40 years of marriage last December, they have 3 children and have lived in Arlington for over 36 years.
